Day 2 and 3 - London

Right, we are on the train to Boston and I have access to wi-fi so I'll start uploading everything from the past few days, enjoy!

Not much to report about the weekend. We didn’t really do that much except for do a bit of window shopping and enjoy the hotel room.

Cocktails and snacks via room service!

On the Friday evening, Kathryn had arranged for cocktails and nibbles to be delivered via room service on the Friday evening. We watched The Secret Life of Walter Mitty which was very good.

The following morning I walked over to the local bakery which has a really nice selection of fresh pastries.  I had a little wonder around the local streets before retiring to the hotel.

In the afternoon we went to New Bond Street to do some window shopping, and briefly wondered over to Bond Street for some lunch. We were quite lucky that even at 2pm when it was very busy, we were able to stumble into a gastro-pub and actually get a table within 5-10 minutes. We had a jug of margaritas, food and then some Calpirinhas.

We both were feeling tired so we decided to call it a and made our way back to the hotel. The Ampersand has a complimentary minibar  with soft drinks and snacks, which is very nice, but we stopped by M&S in order to get it fully stocked!

Fully stocked minibar!

In the evening we watched Behind the Candelabra which we really enjoyed.

On the Sunday we took a walk down Brompton Road to get to Harros and Harvey Nichols. With all the food, we still had loads of cake left, so we decided to have cake for breakfast and get something for lunch.

Rainbow cake from Hummingbird Bakery.

The weather wasn’t great, so walking back we dove into a small bar/resturuant called Joe’s, which turned out to be a French Cuisine resturant. Although we sat at a table, we still just ordered cocktails, although it felt a little awkwards. They bought us over some complimentary bread thing with olive oil and rosemary which was lovely. And the cocktails were really good too. I wasn't brave enough to take a photo in there to show you!

We then went straight for an early dinner at the Byron burger restaurant in South Kensington. This was another place that we visited the first time. We finished things off with desert from Scoop.

After getting back to the hotel, we began to pack our things up and get ready for the flight tomorrow. To get us in the spirit, Kathryn used the laptop to rent The Devil Wears Prada.

I forgot to mention that in the boquet of flowers where purple calla lilies which were the same as the ones we had at the wedding!
